Re: Saturn
Hi Rick,
I've split out your image to a new thread and just tweaked the content of the post enough to make the image show without needing to click on the link.
You certainly managed to capture a great deal of detail in Saturn there – especially for only an 8" scope. Well done!
cheers,
Robin

Re: Saturn
Nice one!!
I have an 2.5x Barlow now, maybe also looking into 5x now

Re: Saturn
I highly recommend the Explore Scientific Focal Extender 5x over Barlow. You can place the Focal Extender anywhere between the camera and scope without affecting or changing the magnification.

Re: Saturn
I used the term Barlow but I did mean Powermate which is also a extender. I have a 1.25" Powermate 2.5 and maybe going for a 2" Powermate 4x. Found that one with more then $100 reduction ....
Re: Saturn
One of the reasons for the enhanced detail, especially the rings around Saturn, was the use of "deconvolution " in the Astra Image program. I now use it for all my planetary images to bring out that final detail.
