Live stack from folder not working

#1

Post by jcinaz »

I have two computers both running Window 10 Pro. I am using the latest release of SharpCap Pro 64-bit on both computers.
One computer works just fine when doing a live stack from a folder. The other one doesn't.
On the computer that doesn't work, after selecting the images, no image shows up and the controls are grayed out.
I've tried several folders - no change.
I can't remember ever doing live stack from a folder on this computer, so I can't say it ever worked.
I can do live stack while taking images.
What should I be looking for?

Hi,

Show the SharpCap log while you are trying this out and see if any error messages show up. You should see some info messages regarding which folder you have selected and what files are in it - like this

Unless something obvious shows up in the log to point you to the problem then feel free to post the contents here and I will see if anything makes sense to me.

thanks, Robin

Hi,
Similar problem than above running 64 bit version with valid licence. Trying to open a .fit file from live stack session I got the message asking for my licence and after confirmation I can't open to the file. The only way to open it up is to choose no licence. Same behaviour with 32 bit version.

Hi,

I suspect that your licence may be one of those that come for free with the Altair cameras. Those licences are only valid when they are being used with an Altair camera, so they don't enable the use of pro features with other brands of camera or with the folder monitor camera.

Cheers, Robin

I use a Color Camera Altair GPCAM3 385C USB3 which is supposed to come with SC pro features with a valid licence. My current licence will finish next month, no problem for me to renew it if the problem disappears.

Didier

Hi,

yes, if your license is from the Altair cam then that will be the problem. A license that you buy on the web site doesn't have this restriction.

The limitation for the Altair licenses is in the small print when you sign up, although I do understand that most people don't really read the fine print (life's too short ...) - see

cheers,

Robin
