NGC 2300 + NGC 2276 with intermediate black hole NGC 2276-3c

NGC 2300 on top, NGC 2276 with black hole at the bottom.

I did read about NGC 2276 and the intermediate black hole NGC 2276-3c in one of it's arms. Also that they suspect that because of this, NGC 2276 is interacting with NGC 2300 and that this causing it's asymmetrical shape. The black hole was only discovered in 2015 and was one of the first intermediate black holes that was discovered. More info on https://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/chan ... -tree.html
NGC 2300 and NGC 2276 are close to Polaris, in the constellation Cepheus. Made the blow-out on the right to mark the location of the black hole.

Equipment:
Ioptron CEM25EC mount, no guiding
Meade LX65 8” f/10 ACF OTA
Optec Lepus Standard 0.62x reducer
Baader Neodymium filter
Zwo ASI385MC camera

Capture with SharpCap: 80 x 60 seconds, gain 140 (of 600), 100 flats, 10 darks.
DeepSkyStacker for stacking.
Processing in PS: Curves and Levels, Color saturation, Noise reduction. Blow out of NGC 2276.

Great work, Menno!

I like your focal length. So many small galaxies out there that I just can't touch with my 418mm FL.

That galaxy is WAY up there at +86 deg declination. It would be a worthwhile target for those of us at high latitudes. Imaging opportunities year round!

And yes, lots of smaller objects way up there. I didn't know till now that there is SO much in Ursa Major for example.
