Save file to AVI
Sharp cap defaults to SER files on saving images even when set to AVI file in settings. how do you gge the to default to AVI. I use a Orion colour imager 4 Camera, I cant open SER files

It should be a easy fix for Sharp cap . Who uses serf files anyway ?

Hi
AVI format is 8 bit only. If your camera is capturing above 8 bits SharpCap will not be able to save in AVI format. Make sure your bit depth is set correctly

Hi,
I think Chris is probably correct – the output format in the settings is only a preferred output format which SharpCap will attempt to use if it is compatible with the images you are capturing. If your camera is set to a 16 bit mode then AVI is incompatible as it only supports 8-bit, so SER format will be used for video files to avoid losing data.
