Hello all, not specifically related to Sharpcap but wanted to see if this is normal
of light pollution filters or if I got a lemon? I'm imaging the beautiful Rho Ophiuchus
region from my Bortle 5 backyard and Antares has this ugly non-concentric
glow around it. My guess is that it's internal reflections and showing itself only
on super bright stars.. With just the IR cut filter the star looks great so I don't think
it's anything funny with the overall image train. But am consistantly seeing this
with the L-enhance....Any thoughts appreciated !

Optolong L-Enhance Halo on bright stars?
Re: Optolong L-Enhance Halo on bright stars?
Hi Casey
This is known with the Optolong L-eNhance (and L-eXtreme) filters. Around very bright stars there often are halos. It also depends on what equipment you have, exposure time, and so on. But Antares with his high magnitude is trouble for the filter.
My experience is that lowering the exposure times helps but that is just not what you need here. Lowering gain and/or offset sometimes also helps.
