Temperature sensor compatibility

#1

Post by psy1280 »

I’ve just purchased the ZWO EAF focuser with temperature sensor. Does anyone know if the “t-comp” box in the focuser panel will enable the sensor in SharpCap?

Thank you,
Joe

Hi,

SharpCap won't read the temperature value from your focuser (although ASCOM does make that information available). If the EAF ASCOM driver implements the latest ASCOM standards then the 'T Comp' checkbox should also show as checked if you have turned temperature compensation on (older ASCOM drivers didn't allow so much flexibility with temperature compensation). On the other hand, the temperature compensation will be going on behind the scenes.

cheers,

Robin
