Problem with importing dark-flat along with a dark

#1

Post by psy1280 »

It seems that a consensus in trying to work with the difficulties of taking flats with the ZWO294 is to take, Flats along with Dark-flats (instead of using the bias option in SC when taking flats).

In order to do this, it was suggested to save the Dark-flat (saved in a capture folder) into the "dark box" of the pre-processing window.

If I were to do this, I would have no where to import a dark (since the dark-flat is occupying that box).

I hope this makes sense, essentially I'm asking how do I use a flat + dark flat + dark in SC when live stacking?

Thank you for helping with this,
Joe

Hi Joe,

basically you put the dark flat frame in as a dark frame, then capture your flats using the 'Capture Flat' tool. Once you've done that, the flat that is saved has the dark flat correction in the file, so you can deselect the dark flat under 'preprocessing' and select the real dark for the imaging run.

hope that helps,
