To all,

You have all heard the story before. I just switched from dslr to zwo asi 533 one shot color. In sharp cap it gives me raw 8 bit and raw 16 bit and rgb 24. Which should I pick? Further, it appears the photo format I should use is fits. Correct? I also purchased the L extreme duo band filter. I am using either my 65mm quad apo or my 127 triplet.

Per threads I have read, when using raw 16 bit you have to debrayer the photos. Apparently, there is a setting in deep sky stacker. If its just a box to click I am good. If its more complicated I will need further assistance. My next questions when using the L extreme filer in DSS, is there a setting I need to use.

I look forward to all of your advise.

Thanks

Hi,

for deep sky imaging you should use RAW 16. Setting up the debayering in DSS is covered here : viewtopic.php?t=911

I don't think there are any specific changes needed in DSS for the filter, but I've not used that sort of filter, so might be wrong.
