Lunar imaging with filters
Re: Lunar imaging with filters
That camera is a similar spec/price to the QHY5LII-M I use.
Re: Lunar imaging with filters
I captured this last night using a Green Wratten #58 filter. I couldn't do a comparison as the above craters were not available. Still it demonstrates that use of a green filter is beneficial.

Oh, I didn't think about using a green filter for pictures of the Moon, I'll give it a try as your example does look gorgeous.

This is high res https://www.astrobin.com/jbmxjr/C/.
The best results I have had were with an IR685 filter https://www.astrobin.com/uj3ns8/B/

Re: Lunar imaging with filters
Hi to all,
I have done couple of tries with astronomik 807 IR on a C11 with asi 290MM using sharpcap pro. Even if the moon was at 25-27° over the horizon, I have to confirm a quite good seeing mitigation due to the filter. Attached Theophilus_Cyrillus and Aristoteles_Eudoxus done in the same night.
