Poor colour balance in my images need proper settings for ZWO 224 MC for Jupiter Sharpcap Ver3.1

I keep getting poor colour balance in my resulting images. I use a 8inch CPC Celestron at f/10 with a UV/IR filter. No barlow lens.
I am using Sharpcap Version 3.1. Below are the settings that I use. I use Autostakkert and the Registax to process Wavelets and use the Autobalance RGB feature in Registax. The resulting images results in a mostly black and white image with a slight pinkish hue.
I have just started using Sharpcap and I am new to the ZWO 224MC Camera.

I want to get my proper colour balance, any help much appreciated. Thank you.

Here are my Sharcap Settings.

Hi,

Please could you share an image so we can see what your colour balance looks like with the settings you give.

Ok I will attach one later. My tiff image is too large and will not upload. I’ll save a jpeg and post soon.

I have attached the file. A 491 frame stack. Process Wavelets in Registax and also applied Auto RGB Balance in Registax.
Thank you.

Here it is a 491 stack. I applied auto colour balance in Registax after Wavelets.

Hi,

to me that looks like you are using the wrong bayer pattern in AutoStakkert. With AVI captures you have to choose the pattern manually and that purple cast is typical if you have chosen the wrong one. I'd suggest going back to Autostakkert and try each of the 4 options (RGGB/BGGR/etc/etc) until you find the one that looks like the right colours.

Always a good idea to capture RAW in SER format, as SER format allows SharpCap to write the Bayer Pattern into the file header which means this problem doesn't happen.

thanks,

Robin

Thank you for the advice, I’ll try Autostakkert again soon. I’ll let you know how it goes.
