Yes Donstim, there are many methods that get you close, I went out last night and did various methods back to back but unfortunately it ends up being lucky focusing, the three images looked mostly the same but some tiny details emerged in one that was not in the others.... and these details probably would not even be apparent unless you just know they are suppose to be there. That’s really the only reason I am hoping for a real-time wavlet algorithm ...it simply would be valuable in taking out the best guess... many are taking out of focus images thinking they are in focus, yes they are very close but they are not
