Hi Robin
I was able to take dark's with my ASI 183 mono camera to create a master using Sharpcap using bin 2 with hardware binning on by lowering the turbo USB from 98% to 91% (will not work any higher than 91%). When I am using Mono 16 under color space with bin 2 and hardware binning on there is no change in the histogram or image display at all from the previous histogram/display using bin 2 and hardware binning off using live stack on or off. When I used mono 8 under color space you get a change but it is totally opposite (histogram moves in the wrong direction) to where it should be moving. I have not tried yet my ASI 1600 color camera as of yet but was told by others that it works fine in mono 16 & mono 8 except for the recent posted auto color balance issue. Thank you!

Re: Bin 2 Hardware binning on acting weird
Hi,
I think you are seeing the difference between additive binning and averaging binning - both are effective in improving the image (increasing signal/noise ratio) - see this thread for a very length explanation - viewtopic.php?t=262.
