[SOLVED] PG Flea not being recognised with Sharpcap 3.1

#1

Post by Craney »

Hello there,

SharpCap 3.1.5164.0
Windows 7
PG Flea FL3 U3 32S2M-CS mono

Sharpcap is not picking up the camera when asked.
Flea works in Firecapture. Works with FlyCap2 and I have downloaded the SharpCap Prerequisite installer as well....< Do I need to unpack this in a certain directory etc??>
Seems to retain the 'memory' of my ZWO 120 (which I resort to because the Flea doesnot connect ) on the camera drop down menu even when the zwo is unplugged and the computer rebooted etc..
I had this or a similiar problem before in ver 2.9 'ish.....honestly cannot remember what I did (exactly) to resolve it.

Any help much appreciated.

Sean.

Hi,

there is a separate 'Pre-requisite' installer on the downloads page that contains some microsoft packages that might resolve this problem - more common cameras (ZWO, QHY etc) don't need this so I have a separate installer to keep the main install size down. Anyway, try grabbing and installing that and see if that helps.

Hi Robin,

I loaded 3.0 (latest upgrade) and the relevant Pre-requisite file. >>>>>>> worked fine, recognised the Flea and my 120mc.

Reloaded 3.1 ( and it's pre-requisite) >>>>>>> only picked up the 120mc.

Is the issue with the latest Pre-requisite?

Which log would you like me to post of the 4 combinations of cameras and versions of sharpcap ??

Regards,

Sean.

Hi Sean,

I just tested on a clean WIn10 machine and with the following installed I got my PGR (blackfly, GigE) camera to work

* SharpCap 3.1.5153
* SharpCap 3.1 Prereqs
* FlyCap2 Viewer ( I tried 2.11 r425 and 2.12 r2 and both worked).

What version of the FlyCap2 software do you have? Maybe an older version could be compatible with SharpCap 3.0 but not 3.1?

cheers,

Robin

Thanks for the input Robin,

yes, you guessed right. Updated the FLYcapture software and it recognised the Flea...
I really should think a bit more around the problem.

Excellent. Let's get after Jupiter then !!

Many thanks.

Sean.
