Robin, sorry this is new to me and I do not know how to send/display the log report to this forum. I went into help "show log" and just selected "copy to clipboard" but I see nothing under file to save and send? Thank you!

Thank you Robin and I feel dumb lol! BTW, I tried out now the polar alignment and live stacking feature after reinstalling the two Sharpcap version 3.0 & 3.1 with the camera capped so only darks and Sharpcap now works and does not stop. Obviously these two features could not produce the results because the camera was covered but at lease it now does not want to shut down. I will test it out tonight 1st with polar alignment. Thank you again and here is the camera profile log.

Cheers,

Chris A

Hi,

so I can see that the problem is that the program doesn't want to load the output format of FITS. There are a few possible reasons, so I will have to look into why. Thanks for sharing this and hope that everything works ok for you tonight.

cheers,

Hi Robin

Sorry to get back late but I was testing last night late. Sharpcap 3.1 worked very well with my ASI183 camera using the native driver (I did not try the ASCOM driver) and I was able to get an excellent polar alignment in about 10 minutes. I was also able to capture images using the capture live and stack using sigma clip up to 156 images at 5 sec each with no images ignored. It was windy out with wind gusts up to 45 km.

A strange thing was when I change one of the camera profiles like brightness and then loaded upon restarting, I did not get an error message this time. I did try out PHD2 latest version to use the ASI183 as a guide camera it only worked using ASCOM and would not work using the native driver. It connected to the native drive fine but would not calibrate.

Hi,

good to hear that it is working. It may be that PHD is using an older version of the QHY SDK that doesn't properly support the 183C camera - maybe worth asking on the PHD group (google groups I think) to see if they have any suggestions.

cheers,

Okay, Robin, I will do that. BTW the camera is a ZWO ASI183 mono. Thank you!

Doh! In that case try the devil build of phd2. I think it may have an updated zwo sdk in it.

Cheers
