both of my SC version now crash on startup ..
faulty module KERNELBASE.dll
WIN 7 Pro 64 bit.

re-install does not help.
NEW UPDATE..... MIcroshaft DOTNET 4.6.5 was corrupt. SC 3.1 at least starts now....
will keep an eye on this one..

This error, in my experience, was often caused by corrupt user profile. Windows 7 was notorious for it.
For anyone encountering "faulty module KERNELBASE.dll" - it could occur starting any Windows program - try this:
For a corrupt user profile, once the new user has been created, then data (Documents, Pictures ...) can be copied from the old profile to the new profile.
Also the corrupt user profile could be renamed (by an admin user) and the original user name created, then the data copied back.
