IMP: Metadata missing in 8218

Just downloaded 8218. The RA/DEC and focal length metadata seems missing from the FITS header? This is pretty important and urgent as apps like Siril and PI can no longer get metadata from image for PCC and/or platesolving.

Please add the focal length also as in Sharpcap settings.

Just to add - after the update I have been getting consistent failure in plate solving. Could this be a reason?

Hi,

Missing object RA/DEC I cannot confirm (8218 32bit, w10, ASCOM-hub, QHY174GPS). They appear in FITS headers "RA"/"DEC" and "OBJCTRA"/"OBJCTDEC". At least "Test Platesolve" seems to work also. Focal length (as set in platesolve options) I haven't seen so far in any output.

That's odd. I got them in the earlier version but not in 8218, as can be seen in the header copied above.

Any views from SC team? Is they something that could be switched off in the new version?

I also get the platesolve test working. When I try to solve the capture in ASTAP it failed. Took me some time to realise it was because RA and DEC were not there. When I input them manually it was fine.

The focal length is a new request.

Here also I can not confirm missing RA/DEC in 8218. As far as I know there only was an option added in Settings > Saving to manually add TELESCOP and/or OBSERVER in the FITS header.

Hi,

the RA/DEC/OBJCTRA/OBJCTDEC headers only show up in the FITS file if you have an ASCOM mount connected in SharpCap at the time that you take the image (so that SharpCap has something to ask for the celestial co-ordinates).

I think that is likely to be the cause of the headers apparently going missing - not having connected a mount. I certainly see them in the latest version with the mount connected.

Yes, that was it. The mount got disconnected sometime during the sequence.
