Frame exposure time to short

Post by julietdiane »

In both Sharpcap 3.14 and 3.04.
Camera ZWO 120 MC - USB 2.0
Think Pad Laptop running windows 7.

After closing Sharpcap and re-starting several times the frame time gets corrupted. No matter what exposure time I set the
frame gets wrongly terminated after about 1 sec. It stays like this permanently. Only after a number of restarts and laptop re-boots
does the correct frame time length springs back into life.

Hi,

it's not unheard of for the tiny computer on the camera itself to crash (or at least become unresponsive for some reason) - that can often give symptoms very much like those you are describing. The fix for this is to unplug and then re-plug the camera as rebooting the PC usually doesn't interrupt the power to the camera, so the on-camera processor does not get reset.

I'd suggest this as the first thing to try the next time this happens.

cheers,

Robin
