Re: Sensor Analysis on ZWO ASI183MM Pro failed
Hi,
that log looks like there is varying illumination levels during the gain measurement stage (after uncovering the sensor). For instance we get values like
810ms exposure has brightness of 38%
1287ms exposure => 76%
1145ms => 74%
988ms => brightness 7% (!!!!)
The only things that could cause this are the camera not responding correctly to exposure changes or illumination level variations. In either case, they stop SharpCap from getting to the target brightness level required for measurements, so the analysis cannot proceed.
cheers,
Roibn

Re: Sensor Analysis on ZWO ASI183MM Pro failed
Hi Robin:
I restarted the computer and ran it again. Sensor Analysis succeeded on the ZWO 183MM Pro. The Altair 183c is giving me trouble
Not sure if I reinstalled Windows and all the programs on this laptop....

Re: Sensor Analysis on ZWO ASI183MM Pro failed
Hi Robin:
I had not reset this laptop. Doing it now. Hopefully the problem with Altair 183c TEC is due to corrupt files. Given the problems with ASCOM Mallincamsky I have learned a great deal about that topic.
BTW, Sensor Analysis executed very wall with my Mallincamsky cameras although since they are not SDK based I probably have a few functions missing such as running and saving both 8 bit and higher bit depths of Sensor Analysis.

Re: Sensor Analysis on ZWO ASI183MM Pro failed
Hi Robin:
Success! I reinstalled windows and the applications. Ran Sensor Analysis on the Altair 183c Protec in 12 and 8 bit RAW mode. I see two files are generated in the Sensor Characteristics folder.
The problem with the fan starting and stopping has been corrected too.
Once a year or every 2 years reinstall windows. Making sure your data and application programs ae stored on a portable drive.

Robin:
Half the time sensor analysis on the ZWO is failing..perhaps more frequently. Here are bug reports.
I will post the bug reports tomorrow.

Re: Sensor Analysis on ZWO ASI183MM Pro failed
Does the image keep flicking to black during the parts where you have the problem?
One thing that is common to all the logs is that SharpCap is making a small change to exposure (maybe from 1.1s to 0.8s) and suddenly the next measurement of image brightness is almost black (rather than reducing about 30% as you would expect).
cheers,
Robin

Re: Sensor Analysis on ZWO ASI183MM Pro failed
Hi Robin:
It is extremely fast compared to the other cameras. Blindingly fast!. I got one sensor analysis at 16 bit and when I attempted 8 bit, it would not Subsequent attempts at 16 failed. Maybe the sensor analysis on the ZWO is too fast?
All my cameras with the exception of the Mallincam DS287m (ASCOM) have been successful.
I have yet to test the Mallincam DS432m and DS26c
Meade LPI-G and DS287c also were successful, whilst the DS287m does not interact with Sharpcap.

Re: Sensor Analysis on ZWO ASI183MM Pro failed
Dr. Glover:
You are correct in your observations. I am running Sensor Analysis with ASI Camera 2 (ASCOM) and it isn't as "jumpy" and it isn't going from black to white as with the SDK software.
