Error Loading ASCOM focuser driver

#1

Post by MLM »

I'm using SharpCap Pro v4.0.7995 32 bit and have ASCOM 6 SP 1 installed running on Windows 10.

In the Hardware/Focuser Menu I get the error attached when I try to connect to SESTO SENSO 2 ASCOM driver V1.3. This was working previously in SharpCap and I don't know what to fix. The focuser is attached to COM 10 as reported by ASCOM diagnostics, and windows reports its working correctly. The focuser works when controlled by the PrimaLuce Focuser Manager program.

I ran ASCOM diagnostics and found this in the log

Hi,

the key error here 'PEReader Exception' seems to come from ASCOM - it is not happy with the ASCOM driver DLL for some reason.

I would recommend updating your ASCOM installation, as 6SP1 is quite out-of-date now. The latest is 6.5SP1. If that doesn't help then you could try an uninstall and reinstall of the Senso driver.

cheers,

Robin
