Flats don't match resolution
v4.0.7995 - ASI294MM
Flats taken with the ASI294MM at full resolution 8288 x 5644 work until one restarts SC and an error pops up saying that the flat doesn't match a resolution of 6248 x 4176 and thus can't be loaded. Darks load OK on a SC restart.

Re: Flats don't match resolution
Hi Don,
can you share the problem flat frame please - from the log it looks like it was a lower resolution, which would stop it from loading. The only thing I can think of is that you captured the flat in ROI of 6248x4176 (which must have been ROI in 47megapixel mode).
cheers,
Robin

Re: Flats don't match resolution
Here is the text file of the flat showing the resolution that it was taken at. The actual fits file is over 90MB so I didn't bother to attach it. It also reads with a fits viewer the same 8288x5644 resolution.
The 294MM ROI doesn't have a selection of 6248x4176 and there isn't a custom setting for some reason that allows one to set a customer resolution.
Another astronomer told me that they had a similar experience with their flat frame with this version.

Re: Flats don't match resolution
Hi Don,
the fits file name from the capture settings (22_07_47.fits) isn't the same as the one you had selected in the log - in the log you had tried to load
Can you check that file to see if it is really 6248x4176 or not?
cheers,
Robin

Re: Flats don't match resolution
I just noticed using my ASI2600 on a different setup that the resolution is the same as the error message: 6248x4176
Maybe that's a clue!

Hi Don,
yep, you are right - it was there in the name of the flat file and I didn't spot it... You were trying to use a flat from the 2600 on the 294 That explains the wrong resolution!
cheers,
Robin

Re: Flats don't match resolution
Robin the flat was generated using the 294. It's resolution is 8288x5644. I didn't use a flat from the 2600.
I just tried to use the flat from the 294 with the previous version 4.0.7976 and it loads and there is no error.
I asked another astronomer running a 294 last night to load a 294 flat using the latest SC version and he got the error message that the resolution didn't match 6248x4176 using a 8288x5644 flat taken with his 294.

Hi Don,
in that case, can you share with me the flat you tried to use so that I can investigate further - from the log, the file name was
If you also have a capture settings file next to that flat, I would like to see that too.
thanks,
Robin

Re: Flats don't match resolution
It looks like when using my ASI294 after a long session I had to restart SC due to an issue. When the 294 profile loaded it had entered the proper dark for the 294 but it tried to load the previous days imaging session's flat which was using the ASI2600. So that's why I kept getting the error message telling me I had the wrong flat.
