Re: slower fps rate (planetary) and Meade generic ASCOM driver problem
No results contacting the ZWo forum...
After a long and not very profitable message chain, and after others have noticed the issue, I got this.
Just to let you know...
Best
António
@a.cidadao#48478 Have you already done that? what were the results?
Yes. And the result is normal.
If you said this is a bug of our latest ASIStudio, yes it is possible, but if SHARPCAP has the same behaviour, this is something out of ordinary, and we have not updated our camera driver recently. We have no relationship with SharpCap, and have no idea about the details of their latest version. So at this point, I recommend we restart with the basic trouble-shooting first——try different cables and computers.

Re: slower fps rate (planetary) and Meade generic ASCOM driver problem
Oh dear, not very helpful
I did email them, but got no reply, so we just have to wait and hope it gets fixed in an update.
cheers,
Robin

Re: slower fps rate (planetary) and Meade generic ASCOM driver problem
Hi Robin, got a second reply.
"@a.cidadao#48521
Sorry, I use 294 to test yesterday since I can't find 183, yes I confirm with our devs this is related to our latest 1.19 SDK, something has been changed in 1.19 which leads to this issue. The temporary fix is to replace the 1.19 with 1.18."
Is this of any value to SharpCap at this moment, I mean, not only for me but also for other potential users?
Best wishes

Re: slower fps rate (planetary) and Meade generic ASCOM driver problem
Hi Antonio,
the problem I have is that I don't know what else 1.19 does that might be helping people, so if I go back to 1.18 then it might re-break things that 1.19 fixes. Unfortunately the list of changes that ZWO put into each update doesn't help much - I include it below
I think the best bet is for you to go back to SharpCap 4.0.7957 if you need the high speeds. I will update the latest SharpCap as soon as ZWO release a fix.
cheers,
Robin

Code: Select all
V1.19.1 2021.6.28
Fix some bugs.

Hi Robin, I perfectly understand, I downgraded dome days ago to be able to image.

Hi Robin,
Noticed that ASI updated their sdk...
https://astronomy-imaging-camera.com/so ... ASISDK.txt
Let´s hope that the new version solves the low frame rate issue...
Best wishes

Hi Antonio,
yes, I found the new SDK today and have incorporated it into SharpCap 4.0 - watch out for next week's update which will include the new SDK.
cheers,
Robin
