SC not seeing hardware

#1

Post by chongo228 »

4.0.0739

I updated to 4.0.0739 today and It didn't see my filter wheel or EAF on start up. I was able to point it at my filter wheel but I can't get it to see my EAF.
Under select hardware drop down it only shows "none" and the properties button is grayed out on the focuser so I can't even click on it. The properties button works on the filter wheel and mount sections.

I fired up SC 3.2 and it sees my focuser and controls it no problem. I recently update the firmware on the EAF if that has something to do with it.

Hope that helps.

Hi,

sounds like it is not seeing ASCOM at all and therefore can't see the focuser. SharpCap has built in support for the ZWO EFW, so that gets around the ASCOM problem.

32 or 64 bit SharpCap? Can you post the log please?

cheers,

Robin

Oooh, interesting - definitely an error from trying to load the Focuser list. Works for me here, which is odder.

What version of ASCOM do you have installed? If you are out of date, does an upgrade help (if the upgrade does fix it then please let me know the old version you had so I can test and try to workaround the problem).

thanks,

Robin

Yep...updating ASCOM fixed it. Seems to work fine now.

Thanks.

Hi,

did you notice which version of Ascom you had before you updated? Unless it was really a long way out of date I ought to go back and fix whatever incompatibility I've managed to introduce.

Cheers, Robin

I had version 6.3

Might be good to update. I tend not to update ASCOM and other drivers if everything is working properly.
