Image quality in .ser file captures not good

Hello,
I have recently started to use SC Pro to capture spectroscopy data. Usually something like 10x30 second runs. Each individual frame as displayed in the capture area looks great, but the resulting frames in the ser file are dim and noisy. Attached is a screenshot.

The upper field is a frame displayed in AutoStakkert and the lower field is a screen capture from SC. I noticed that the screen capture file is titled "...WithDisplayStretch.png" so I am guessing this has to do with the display vs the actual data.

So how can I capture to the ser file as it is seen on the screen.

Hi,

I think what you have his you have adjusted the image stretch in the display histogram to brighten the image on screen in SharpCap and then you have saved the image with that adjustment of light by using the little save button that is also in the mini histogram. The fact that you made these adjustments is probably misleading when you are setting the exposure – you are thinking that you are correctly exposed but actually are underexposed and SharpCap is brightening the image on screen because you have configured it to.

Thank you Robin. I was thinking that was the problem but couldn't quite articulate what I was thinking.
