Darks can only save in .png format

The dark capture feature only produces an averaged .png file, no matter what i have selected in the Capture Format and Area. I tried different colour spaces to no avail. All documentation I can find states it should be a .fits file.

Hi,

Try going into the SharpCap settings and changing the default still image format from PNG to fits. I think that should solve the problem for you.

That did it!
Thank you.
May not be a bad idea to mention that in the manual.

Hi,

Even better to fix it so that if you have chosen PNG or FITS in the output format drop-down while capturing flats or darks then it will obey that preference. I just made that change :-)

Of course if you have some unsuitable format selected like JPEG or AVI then it will fallback on the preferred still file format as it currently does.

Cheers, Robin
