SharpCap update quit saving images from QHY168C

Hi
I upgraded to the most recent version V3.2.5986, and updated to the latest QHY camera driver.

The software does not capture any image files. I lost images on two nights and have since migrated to another software.
I did find Vers 3.1 did work for image capture, but the auto temp setting didn't work (that bug is fixed and works in V3.2)

However, I have the Pro version and would like this software to work with my camera. If you have any ideas for testing I would appreciate help.

I just tested the camera again this evening with 30s images and SharpCap failed to capture again. I have attached the relevant log files from two tests.

Regards

Martin Ratcliffe

Hi,

I would certainly recommend that you try updating a newer version either 3.2.6020 or 3.2.6028 which both have updated versions of the qhy SDK (different ones too) to see if either of those give you better results. Qhy have been very active in updating their SDK over the last few months after a long period without any updates. This has led to support new cameras and fixes for a number of bugs like the temperature bug that you mention, but has also led to the occasional new problem creeping in.

My golden rule with software updates to my Observatory PC is to always upgrade during the day and to do a quick test with the appropriate camera just after upgrading to make sure everything works okay. That gives you time to sort out any problems or go back to the older version if unexpected issues crop up.

Cheers, Robin
