M13 With Canon 500D in Sharpcap Live Stacking

#1

Post by cuivenion »

I tested out the Live Monitor Folder function last night with Beta 3.2.5638.0. I used a Canon EOS 500D (Backyard EOS for Capture) with a HEQ5 mount and a 130PDS scope. I Didn't have a lot of time unfortunately but I did manage this live stacked shot of M13, 19 x 8 seconds, ISO 6400, no darks or flats:

There were some issues which I'll post about later after the football, but it's nice to see this function working. Thought you might like to see the results.

I tried again with the same files using the Folder Monitor and managed much better results with the same files. The great thing about the folder monitor is once you have some data you can practice and experiment for your next EAA observing session.

These images are about 5 minutes of 8 second exposures stacked in live stacking, with a 10 frame Dark, no post processing (apart from the crop). ISO 6400 with a CANON 500:
