Suggestion: return to previous output format after plate solve

SC Beta v 3.3.7146.0

I don't know it this is possible or just a step we have to do ourselves.
I don't use plate solving in SC a lot. I don't guide plus the GoTo of my CEM25EC mount is just fine.
I only use it if needed after a meridian flip when the mount can sometimes loose its way.
But I did find that after the use of plate solving in SC, the Output Format is set to PNG ... happend on multiple occasions that I continued capturing in PNG because I didn't know SC did that and I was stumped on why it suddenly captured in PNG.
So returning to the original output format or a notification that the output format has changed due to plate solve would be handy?

Hi Menno,

there's already code to put the capture format back, although it would fail to work on a couple of error cases (things like the frame failing to capture for the plate solving operation). I will tighten that up so that putting it back to the original format is the first thing that it does after trying to capture the frame – that should close off any of those loopholes.

Cheers, Robin

Hi Robin

That's what happening then: indeed there is almost always a "frame faling to capture" but then the next one works fine.
Thanks!

It's fixed. When plate solving fails and after that succeeds, that capture format goes back to the previous format :)
Thanks.
