Hi Sam,

thanks for the update - I have included both the updated files, but I have a bit of a problem since I have also had another contribution for the menu file from a different user and I have no way to tell which translation is best when they are different.

I include the other version here and would be grateful for your input on whether any of the translations in this version should be used in the combined update.

Robin

Menu_ja.json
I looked the uploaded Menu_ja.json and I realized that almost of words were the same as my first modifications on Feb.23. Very few words, only "Framing Shot" and "Framing Shot Quick", were modified by him as I could recognize.

My second version on Mar.1 modified much more words with Ino-san's idea that includes overwriting his modifications above.

As a consequence, I think the second version is much better and natural for ordinary Japanese and amateur astronomers.

By the way, I didn't know a function of attachment on this forum, I will use it next time.

Hi Sam,

I only added json files to the allowed types for attachments yesterday, so it would have been harder to use the attachments before then!

I will use the latest version you shared for today's update.

I've uploaded a new update today, which contains

* German translation and improved Japanese translation (thanks @miyakawa and @astfu)
* Choice of which colour channel to optimize for in the Smart Histogram sky background measurement
* Optional larger text on the polar alignment display when in final adjustment phase
* Ability to rename a live stack in progress
* The sequencer steps that can accept a list of co-ordinates accept a wider range of formats and also accept target names along with the co-ordinates
* Lots of bug fixes (thanks for the reports everyone)

cheers,

Robin

Hello Robin,

I try the last version 4 ... with the "automatic" translation.
SharpCap changes to German, maybe while it detects automatically the language of Windows ... that is very unfamiliar.
I need to translate from German back to English to understand what the menu does (I can French, German and English ... but I wish to have SharpCap in English ... as I have Prism software in French and other "German" software in German.)

How can I switch back to full English ?

Hello,

With my (also German) W10-64 the latest SC 4.0 comes up with English.

Jean-Francois, there is under Settings/General a checkbox "Always show SharpCap in English, ...", maybe this helps.

Cheers, Christian

I made a mistake. The above was W7-64.
Just now with W10-64 it starts in German. But the checkbox helped to go to English.

Hi Dominique,

thanks for these suggestions - I have applied them to the translation files for the next update.

If you spot anything else then do look at this thread which explains how you can edit the translation files yourself : viewtopic.php?f=38&t=3714 - if you then send the edited versions to me it's really easy and is less work than listing the changes as you have this time.

cheers,

Robin
