Version 4.0.7403 doesn't recognize the active mount

Version 4.0.7403
Doesn't recognize the scope (Poth Hub).
Asks for CPWI.
The focuser interface is showed (including figures), even the scope has no focuser.
This is with my Celestron 6 SE.

I also use a Celestron Evo 8 with CPWI and a Celestron Focuser.
Perhaps the program "is confused" about the use of two different scopes?

Checked with version 3.3.7351.0 which did worked as expected.
Also no problem with version 2.3.

Hi,

there were some ASCOM issues introduced recently that only appear if you have an old version of ASCOM (6.3 or older). If you update ASCOM then they should be resolved - I also have a fix for the next SharpCap update that will mean the ASCOM update is not required.

cheers,

Hi Roel,

ASCOM recommends that you should not use POTH any more with ASCOM 6.5 - you should use 'Device Hub' instead - see https://ascom-standards.org/Help/Platfo ... 519d50.htm. I think it provides the same functionality that POTH used to.

Hi Robin,

My friend Ino-san proposed many better translations.
He has a long history of his amateur astronomy life and I merged his ideas to new Menu_ja.json.

I uploaded a new file at the same location;

http://hoshizolove.blog.jp/Software/Menu_ja.json

If still it is on time to the next version, please replace the old one to the new one.

By the way, I had a presentation talk yesterday at the CP+ that is the largest camera exhibition in Japan.
The talk is for EAA using SharpCap. If you are interested in, please see

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sExg4ir ... e=youtu.be

My talk starts around 4:16:30.
Talks and slides are in Japanese, but you can see still some pictures, and the final stage is a real live EAA to show M42 and Barnard's Loop from my house to people on the network in all of Japan.

Best,
Sam

thanks so much for contributing your corrections to the Japanese translation - it's amazing that within 48 hours of making the first translated version available I have now had corrections submitted for all 3 translation languages!

The corrections will be in next week's update. Any further suggestions welcome!

thanks,

Robin

Hi Sam,

I have also received changes to the translation file from another user, including some corrections to your initial translations. I am about to publish a new version today, which will have those corrections in. I would be very grateful if you could then let me know if I should still include any of the translations in the link above (and which ones!) - I'm afraid I am not able to judge the quality of the Japanese translations !!!

I will take some time to view your presentation - thanks for sharing

Running 4.0.7438 and the old 'object reference not set to an instance of an object' error message is back when trying to set Black/Midtone/White Points in the sequencer.

Hi,

can you share your script please - I can't break this (although there is a glitch to do with the translation of the control names, it doesn't seem to be fatal).

cheers,

Here ya go.

When I click on one of the points in the editor I don't get a data/value box to show up, indicating its brokenness. Just like what happened a couple of months ago before you squashed this bug.

Ah, I see

those controls had two names - one underlying name that goes in the capture settings file and saved capture profiles and a 'display name' that doesn't show up in SharpCap except in the sequencer. As part of adding support for translating SharpCap into other languages I had to decide on using one of the two names in both places - basically breaking either saved capture profiles or the sequencer. Since the sequencer is only in beta I went with that option.

If you remove the steps from your sequence and re-add them, all should be fine.
