Hi,

thanks for that - it definitely doesn't look right, as I can see flickering in the image brightness happening even in parts of the video where you are not adjusting the controls.

I'm going to send the link to the video on to ToupTek to see what they think, and will report back if they give me any feedback.

thanks,

Robin

I'm guessing ToupTek hasn't responded yet to the issue also being present in their own tool, though it shouldn't matter what tool is being used really.

Thanks

Hi,

I actually had a response from them just yesterday - as follows...
I have checked your attached video and I can't reproduce the issue on the same camera with the similar settings. Therefore, based on the performance, it is possible that there is a problem with the customer's camera. Could I kindly ask you to inform the customer to contact his/her dealer for camera repair or exchange services?
I would suggest trying the same test (if at all possible) on a different PC and using a different (short - <2m) USB3 cable - if you haven't done this already. That's a good way of ruling out the PC and the cable from being part of the problem.

cheers,

Robin

I haven't tried on another PC, but I have used other cameras with this PC and cabling, with higher pixel and data throughput requirements, without this issue. If ToupTek requires the test then I will try it, but at this time, I don't see any reason to think there is fault there. Did they by chance give you some reference number or something I can use when reaching out to them so I don't have to go through all this again? I got the camera directly from them.

Thanks again

Hi,

no reference from ToupTek I'm afraid - I discussed your issue with one of their technical (software development I think) people, who was kind enough to test out the same scenario to see if he saw the same issue.

cheers,

Oh well. Thanks for looking at it anyway.
