Moravian Instruments C1x/C3-61000 and 26000

Dear Robin,
I´m tester of Moravian Instruments Cameras. Now we have ready and functional C3 and C1x models with fullframe IMX455 and APS-C IMX571 sensors.
Over ASCOM, all works fine, but quite slow with high resources overhead. Native support will be welcomed, as with C1 and C2 cameras.

Moravian Instrumnts SDK DLLs are updated. Can you download them and take a look for that ? And then contact me back, I can test SharpCap on my C3-61k prototype.

Thanks,
Martin

Hi Martin,

thanks for bringing the new SDK to my attention. I will certainly update it in SharpCap for the next update of SC4.0. However, it looks like you should be able to just copy the gxusb.dll from the SDK into the SharpCap install directory (replacing the existing copy) to test the new SDK/Camera. Just make sure you use the dll from the x64 folder if you have the 64-bit version of SharpCap, otherwise the dll from the x86 folder.

thanks,

Robin

Ooops, sorry, I think I did not read your post carefully enough.

It looks like the cameras you have need the alternate cxusb.dll SDK - unfortunately that doesn't look like a such a quick change to make - the SDK is slightly different to the gxusb one, which I will need to take account of. It will take a little more time - maybe a week or two to fit this work in.

thanks,

Robin

Yes, you are right. For these large C1x, C3 and C4 cameras you have to use cXusb.dll because of different image acquisition interface.
I think so now we have no free camera for you unfortunately, wiating for new PCBs, sensors etc... Let me know when you will be rady, I will perform test with my piece.

Hi,

the latest SharpCap 4.0 (4.0.8060) now includes CxUSB.dll and code that should detect CX cameras. It might even run the camera too - the code is there, but I think it's unlikely to work first time without the benefit of a camera to test with.

Please give it a try if you have time and report what happens (ideally with a log that should help track down any problems).

thanks,

Robin

Hello,
tested today (due to holidays, lack of time), but unfortunately does not work.
See attached screenshot and log.

Hi,

OK, that's not too bad for a first try - looks like the camera SDK does not want to report the minimum/maximum exposure times to SharpCap. Do you know what they are? I can hardwire them if the SDK call fails.

Also, does the camera have gain? The same might be necessary for gain.

cheers,

Robin

Yes, you are right. Pavel confirmed me, so he forgot to implement that feature. He will update SDK. Do not hardwire anything. We will check also gain, camera has adjustable gain.

I will try Sharpcap with new dll, and let you know about results.

Hi Martin,

OK, that makes sense - if you get a chance to test again with the new SDK before next week then let me know the results - we may have to correct a few problems before we get an image :)

cheers,

I tried camera just again, with repaired SDK. Still error, see log.
I also sent it to manufacturer, looks like some method is still missing.
