I'm not sure where to find the GPS function in the scope controls but I was thinking about plate solving and why you couldn't use it to star align the mount.

If anyone can add links to tutorials on the subject, that would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Yes, you can use plate solving for start alignment of the mount ... Norman does it before you.
Look at this discussion: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=2331
You can see that the last message is 4 weeks ago. I have no answer from Norman concerning the scripts.

It was my first try of scripting with SharpCap ...(before I start to program the GPS/LED script for the QHY-174-GPS camera).

I do not forget the polar alignment method. In the mean I found an interesting ASCOM camera simulation driver.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/sky-simulator/
It allows to test the system without real sky. So plate solving and telescope control can be tested before use outside.

Regards,
Jean-Francois

Hi,

the location/GPS type button is the bottom left one in the group of buttons shown in this part of the documentation

https://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/3.2/#Mount%20Control
