GPS Log File Name Format

What is the format of the GPS Log name?
Is there an entry for every FITS file? Or some other cadence?

Hi,

the GPS log is in CSV format and the data in each column is listed in the first row in the file which contains the column headings.

The log contains information from every single frame received from the camera while the GPS is turned on, regardless of whether you save that frame or are just viewing it on the screen. This gives you the ability to go back afterwards and examine any GPS data and perhaps deal with the case where the GPS data was bad in some captured frames but was good at other times.

Cheers, Robin

Sorry I wasn't clear.
How is the log file named? It looks like the system time except for the last 5 digits.
GPSLog_2020-10-21T05_50_19-2108.log
Where does the "-2108" come from?

Ah, OK, I see now.

The last number is added to the date and time are actually the Windows process ID of SharpCap. This just make sure that it's completely impossible for two copies of SharpCap running at once to try to pick the same file name even if they start logging from GPS cameras at exactly the same moment. Effectively you can treat this as a random number and ignore it.

Hope that helps, Robin
