QHY 163M Binning

How do I enter a binning higher than 2x2? 3x3 and 4x4 would sure be nice on occasions!

Hi Brian,

SharpCap shows the binning modes that are made available by the SDK. So, the fact that the 2X2 mode is the highest available indicates that the SDK and perhaps the camera itself do not support any higher binning modes. Sorry about that.

I sort of suspected that but wondered if there was some parameter I could tweak to yield a higher binning.

Not in SharpCap I'm afraid, but it might be possible QHY to enable that sort of thing in their side.

I did drop them a note. 3x3 and 4x4 are not implemented for the QHY 163M at this time; sadly.
