Transferring License to new Laptop

I have been helping a friend of mine setting up an astro imaging system with a QHY163c camera, and we installed Sharpcap 3.0 pro on an older 32bit (usb2 only) windows 10 laptop with 4GB of memory. For some reason, Sharpcap kept crashing when trying save images. Since it is such an old machine, we bought a newer one that is 64bit and has 8GB memory and USB3 ports. It is arriving tomorrow, and we want to transfer the license to that machine. Is there a process we need to follow?

Hi,

you can just use the same license code on the new laptop - you don't need to do anything special as the SharpCap license allows you to use it on any computer you own.

If you've lost your license email, you can get it re-sent to you by visiting https://store.astrosharp.co.uk/Recovery.

am trying to transfer pro licence to new laptop, have uninstalled from old laptop but keep getting this message please help.

"licence request rejected. serial number already in use. only one licence can be clamerd per serial number."

Hi,

you only get to claim a license once with each Altair camera purchased, but you can use the license that you get from the first claim on your new laptop.

When you claimed the license initially, you will have entered your email address and been sent a license code via email. You should now go back to that email message and use the code from it on the new laptop. If you have lost the email, you can get it resent to you here : https://store.astrosharp.co.uk/Recovery
