Live stacking of....dark frames!?!

Hello,

Back when I was reading the literature and forums on how best to stack lights and darks in DSS, I came across suggestions about using the same stacking settings for both lights and darks e.g. median sigma-clipping. I've stuck with that over time and it seems to be producing nice results for me.

Therefore, it begs the question, would it be of more benefit to use the Live Stacking Feature in Sharpcap, with the same settings you use for lights, to capture a master dark frame that you can then use to subtract from your lights when you actually go out to do a live stack!? Would this be more appropriate dark subtraction in comparison to using the Capture Darks feature, which I assume simply just averages all your frames into a master.

Hope this makes sense and thanks!
