The manuals lists "16 bit per pixel or RAW modes will be saved to SER or FITS. "
So I can't save 16bit PNG or TIFF files?

You can actually save to 16 bit PNG, but be warned that an awful lot of imaging software quietly converts 16 bit PNG to 8 bit when loading.
There is currently no TIFF output option.
