Platesolving with SharpCap.

#1

Post by CarmeloLabadi »

I have my EQM-35 mount connected to my laptop along with a camera. . I have installed Astro Tortilla. I would like to try plate solving for the first time. When I go to tools>platesolving in SharpCap platesolving is greyed out. Is there something else I have to do?

Hi Carmelo

Did you test if it will work?
You can test it under File > SharpCap Settings > Plate Solving and on the bottom there, there is a button Test Selected Plate Solver.
If everything is set correctly, it will successfully do that test. Your camera and mount don't have to be connected for that test.

Hello - I'm also a beginner platesolver and experienced an issue last night so I'm trying to make sure I have the right configuration set up. Anyway, I don't have the test button you referred to. I've attached a screenshot of what I see under the plate solving tab. Thanks in advance for your help. Bob
