Field Of View For Polar Alignment
Is it possible to polar align with SharpCap without using a guide scope and with field of view of less than 0.5 degrees?

Re: Field Of View For Polar Alignment
Hi,
not with any reliability - sometimes it might work, but SharpCap's star database gets too thin by the time you get down to that sort of field of view for there to always be enough stars in each field of view to let the calculations work.
Some people have had success with a 0.5x focal reducer (the sort that screw into 1.25" filter threads) to widen the field of view (at least those reducers are relatively cheap, so not too much to venture on an experiment).
cheers,
Robin
