All good now. I hadn't realised that the change in units beyond 16x were faster. Excited to get a clear night to try it but of course there's cloud forecast all week.

Dont mean to hijack this thread but....
Does sharpcap adjust for DST in regards to mount/goto control?
In other words should I have my mounts (cem26) hand controller DST setting turned on or off by default for accurate goto's?

Hi,

if your hand controller has an option to enable daylight saving time (Celestron ones do for instance), then you should select that option and enter the time in DST when daylight saving time is active. Mind you, you should still get perfect results if you set the option to off and always entered the 'non DST' time for your location.

What the hand controller (and the SharpCap software) really need to work out is the UTC (GMT) time. As long as the time zone, DST setting and time are all consistent then the UTC/GMT time can be calculated correctly. If the settings are inconsistent then the results will be wrong.
