I can't seem to find the answer to this question:
Do the Image Controls affect the saved image data?
Context in my research implies that it does, but never comes out directly and definitively, to so state. Please clarify.
Thank you for your time,
Hal

Re: Image Controls
Hi,
yes, almost everything in the controls panel on the right affects the saved data - the image controls certainly do.
The exceptions are:
1) The display histogram adjustments do not affect saved data unless you save using the save icon in the mini histogram (which specifically saves with those adjustments)
2) The controls in the preprocessing section normally affect saved data, but if you are live stacking and chose to save the raw frames within live stacking, those raw frames are *not* affected by the preprocessing settings.
hope this helps,
Robin

Re: Image Controls
Robin, that helps a lot. Point 2 corrected my thinking. Did not realize the preprocessing applied to saved data when not live stacking. (individual raw frames to be clear) as well, thought that was only for the live-stacked image. Good to know!
Need to remember this in case I do straight captures. Always use Live Stacking for the dithering and "save raw frames"
Thank you!
