Wish list item for SharpCap development...

Post by DiligentSkies »

Hello Robin,
Many of the integration techniques... Which is to say, " Revolve around having a filter wheel in place and depend on ASCOM controls that allow for fine tuned and highly refined focus adjustments based on changes in the optical imagining train by changing to different filters.
Not only that, "The naming of Subs based on being able to incorporate, "What filter is rotated into position through a filter wheel are lost in this circumstance, i.e. "Absent of a filter wheel."

That said...

In this situation where, a given imagining train is built on a filter drawer system, i.e. manually changing out to different filters.
The specific features of SharpCap that take advantage of leveraging software specifications through a filter wheel are totally lost.

When in truth, the ability to just to be able to specify that a given sub is using this type of filter in the imagining train could just as easily have a manual selection mode that emulates the use of a filter wheel being in place.

That is, to be able to programmatically select that, "A given filter is in place and it mimics the functionality of a filter wheel, such that the software advantages offered by having a filter wheel in place can be used."

Sincerely,
Mark

Hi Mark,

is this what you are looking for? SharpCap already has support for a manual filter wheel (which will equally work for a filter draw). By configuring this SharpCap will show a filter wheel in the controls UI. Pressing the filter buttons will not do anything physically (obviously), but will let SharpCap know what filter is in use.
