Smart histogram

#1

Post by Ronald »

Hi
When using the brain for my settings i get my results quickly, however when i use the apply button nothing happens. Should I apply them manually? Secondly when i read the sensor data in the brain the results appear different from the tools sensor analysis.

Hi,

Could you post a screenshot showing the problems and the contents of SharpCap log file after they've happened? That would give us a much better chance of working out what is going wrong.

Hi again
I'll get that screenshot as soon as I have a clear night, last night I was trying to use the brain to get a baseline for my camera settings for my dark frames and subframes. Now I just realized I was in raw at 8 instead of raw 16 that is where it was set when I did the sensor analysis maybe this could be the problem?

Hi,

Certainly using RAW8 will give you weird suggestions – in that mode the biggest source of noise is the truncation of the image data to 8 bits, which gives an effective read noise typically of many tens of electrons.
