Hey Robin,

Sure thing

light files: https://drive.google.com/open?id=15OHFx ... 6nRTW2JPnF
dark files: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1l4_Jj ... QBoAXJ-Gqn_

when I stack this dark with any lights it results in a total loss of data. If I stack this dark with a light to create a DSS master dark, it results in lost data from the resulting stack with actual light images.

Thank you for your help.

Hello

Dark files link gives Error 404 URL not found. The lights link worked.

Hi,

Yes, same problem here – I can download the light frames but I get a 404 error trying to fetch back the dark frame.

Cheers, Robin

Looks like this discussion ended in November.

Any further determinations on the issue?

I'm trying to run down a few nagging aberrations in my images and noticed the same issue in DSS. I debayered all in PIPP and they stacked fine.
But with this thread's info more questions have been raised:
Will the darks and flats I take inside SharpCap in RAW16 mode (that are grey 16 bit tiffs) work with both the live stacking feature and the still shots saved in tiff, FITS, and png?

I haven't been using SharpCap in any depth until recently so pardon my ignorance.

Great program by the way...fantastic for EAA in my metro area-bad-seeing-back yard.

Hi,

I think the standard guideline is to do all your dark/flat processing in the same application - that is either

* Master darks and flats created by SharpCap, Live Stack in SharpCap or capture with darks/flats turned on

or...

* Individual darks/flats captured along with individual lights. Process them all together in DSS or PixInsight or whatever...

On top of that, capture your darks/flats/lights in the same application.

If you start to mix and match (master darks from SharpCap into DSS/PixInsight) then you may run into issues that are hard to get sorted. On the other hand, people do mix and match and often get great results...

cheers,

Robin
