Arranging the layout ?

#1

Post by Beyondlumen »

I was wondering if it's possible to rearrange some of the tools in the layout. The reason I'm asking is that on a laptop, the screen space is limited. It would be helpful to have the option of a floating toolbar so that I can keep the histogram next to the controls for the telescope or focus, making it easier to access everything without having to constantly scroll up and down. I hope this makes sense!

Hi,

unfortunately you can't drag some of the blocks of the controls out, or arrange them into two columns. You can drag the whole of the control pane out of the window and put it on a second monitor if you want, and you can re-arrange the blocks in that panel to put them in an order that works for you (the ones you use at the top, etc).

I do quite like the idea of having two columns though, so I might look into that as an option for the future!

cheers,

Robin

Hey Robin, please consider adding the ability to resize the feature and allow it to float around. It would be great to have a pin feature or profile set options once the user sets it in a spot. Thanks! :D

just to second to have the option to rearrange / re-size the controls panels or even completely hide some (eg testing Controls and Image Controls may be redundant to some users, some folks may not be doing any pre processing etc).

I may not be alone in using SharpCap from an 11" screen tablet PC, so screen space is limited. There are a limited set of controls I'll want access to regularly eg gain, exposure, offset, mini histogram, pre-processing. Can take a few frustrating moments to scan up and down to find the thing I'm after. Sure sitting at a desk with a nice big monitor this wouldn't be an issue, but we dont all have that luxury.

Most ideal would be able to select and rearrange a set of controls. Ideally re-size them too, i.e. when you drag out a panel the font gets bigger.

The dual monitor function of SharpCap works really nicely -dedicated screen space for the camera view. With adjustable panels the primary monitor could be made uber uncluttered for the controls and work area etc.
