Hi Everyone,
I'm using a ZWO ASI178 with SharpCap for Live Stacking. I first do all of the setup, focus, and histogram settings and then capture dark frames. When I then put the averaged dark frame into the "Preprocessing" field, the histogram then shifts to the left quite a bit, cutting off the left side. Should I just leave it alone and start the live stacking or should I adjust the camera controls again to move the histogram back to where it was before the dark frame was added?
Thanks!
Mark

Re: Dark Frame Preprocessing Changes the Histogram
Hi,
yes, just turn up the brightness enough to shift the peak away from the left hand side (presuming you are interested in imaging faint stuff - for planetary this wouldn't matter, but you probably wouldn't worry with darks either).
cheers,
Robin
