Hi Robin,
Is there a way to put a selection box around a star and ask SharpCap to calculate the signal-to-noise ratio just for a single frame?
Thanks,
Brian

Re: SNR
Hi Brian,
no, there isn't anything to do that I'm afraid. You might be able to calculate it yourself by first selecting a dark area nearby to get a measure of the standard deviation of the dark background (that's your noise), then selecting the star to get the peak ADU of the star. Subtract the peak ADU from the background ADU and divide by the noise and you have some sort of S/N ratio, although I suspect that to get a true measurement you should consider all pixels in the star image rather than just the brightest.
cheers,
Robin
