Mini Histogram and Display Stretch for VIDEO

#1

Post by carlomuccini »

Hi !
I have a little question about stretching video

By Mini Histogram and Display Stretch I can save the image as seen on the monitor.
I would like to make videos of the Sun in Halfa saving them with the stretch as it is set, in the same way as the snapshot to be able to set them in a YouTube video.

Is there a way to enable the stretch set in AVI other than PNG ?

Thanks!

Carlo

Hi Carlo,

unfortunately there is no way to apply that stretch to saved video files in SharpCap.

You can, however, post-process your video files to apply gain and/or gamma correction using PIPP (https://sites.google.com/site/astropipp/) - look at the options in the 'processing' section in PIPP.

cheers,

Robin

Thanks Robin

I know PIPP but your stretching is very powerful!

Are there any possibilities that in the future you can implement this functionality?

Thanks

Hi Carlo,

I will have to think about it - the worry I have is that it must be something that is *hard* to do by accident, and also not something that you switch on and can leave on by accident - otherwise people will end up with captures/videos that are stretched when they didn't want them to be.

cheers,

Robin

Hi Robin
you are right, but the option may be off for default and switched on once every time is need (auto-off after saving avi).

Thank you for your answer
