Re: cannot start shaprcap on vista
Hi,
it looks like the error code that is showing in all the logs - 0x80096010 - is related to failing to verify the digital signature of the .NET framework install.
You might be able to get around this by downloading and installing the full version of the .NET framework - https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/downloa ... x?id=42642 - rather than the more usual 'web installer' (the web installer is a small program that downloads the rest automatically).
It may also help to ensure that your copy of Windows Vista is fully up to date (all service packs and windows updates installed).
Hope this is helpful,
Robin

Re: cannot start shaprcap on vista
Thanks Robin I'll try that
Latest update
I've managed to install NET framework 4
I cannot install your Prerequisites I get the message Processing NET 4..5.2 for 75% of bar then fails
I've tried to run v2.9 which runs under NET framework 4 but still fails
Attached are three log files
The log file about Framework 4.5.2 was not recognised by your system
Any help welcome - Sharpcap did run on the computer, but there was a serious problem and it self corrected itself resulting in this problem
regards
Tony

Re: cannot start shaprcap on vista
Hi Tony,
one more question - are you connected to the internet when trying to install? If SharpCap thinks that .NET 4 or 4.5.2 is missing then it will try to download the required installer from the internet.
cheers,
Robin
