How to stop/reset Live Stack?

#1

Post by PetePeterson »

Rather than lose a frame or two, once I'm close to setting up an image I'll start Live Stack in hopes that I've got the exposure and other variables optimized for the targeted DSO. And if the first frame or two indicate the need for adjustment I close Live Stack by using the X box at the top of the lower menu. At this point things seem to lock up and the monitor becomes unresponsive to changes such as an increase in exposure. My current solution is to go to CAMERA/DISCONNECT and then reconnect. What is a cleaner way to do this????

Hi Pete,

not something I've seen before.

What camera and version of SharpCap are you using? Do you have any log files from sessions where this problem has happened? Maybe they will tell us something. You can find previously saved log files on disk - see https://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/4.0/#Show%20Log

cheers,

Hi Robin,

The log file shown below if for my final run and I think it only applies to the last Live Stack run and not to the problem that happened causing me to shut down the camera and turn it back on to make this run. The file log for the previous tries that were interrupted didn't save.

Maybe a better question is "How do I shut off live stack so that I can change settings and start over again?"

Hi,

one way to do that is the following

* save what you have in the current live stack if you want
* Pause the live stack using th 'pause' button.
* Make changes to settings
* Use the 'Clear' button to reset the live stacking - this will also resume from the pause automatically.

hope this helps,

Robin
